Changes to the advancement
requirements will commece at the start of the 2005 show season:
Junior
exhibitors must move to Novice the year following their 17th birthday.
Juniors may also advance to Novice by winning three best in division,
with three different birds at three different show. They may move
to Novice the year after acquiring the wins, or stay in Junior until
their 17th birthday. A combination of three wins can be obtained with
any of the following: Best, Best Opposite Sex, or Best Young in division.
Novice
exhibitors who win Best, Best Opposite Sex, or Best Young in Division
with three different birds at three different shows will move the
following year to the Intermediate Division. One of the three wins
must be Best Novice in Show. Each win must be at a show where there
are at least three novice exhibitors showing their birds. If a Novice
believes that he/she is not ready to move up to the Intermediate Division
they may show in novice for up to an additional two years. However,
after the two years the Novice must advance to the Intermediate division.
Also, if an individual has shown for three years at the Novice level
and does not achieve the wins necessary to advance, they may elect
to move into the Intermediate division the following show season if
it is their desire. Keep in mind that once you show in a higher division
you may not go back to the lower level.
Intermediate exhibitors
in order to advance to the Champion Division, must win six (6)
challenge certificates in any of the color sections with six different
birds, plus one of the best in show awards (Best, Best Opposite Sex,
Best Young or Best Opposite Sex Young) and place one bird on the Best
in Show Bench, which is at least sixth best in show or better. There
must be a minimum of five birds entered in the section and a minimum
of three exhibitors with a minimum of twenty-five (25) birds shown
for the best in show awards to count.
Note: The requirements
for advancement will be monitored and reviewed on an annual basis
by the Board of Directors.
